Hannah Elless has been promoted from understudy to the cast of the Broadway revival of Godspell. Elless, who began performances on May 22, takes over her role from Lindsay Mendez, who, as previously reported, departed the production to star in the forthcoming world premiere musical Dogfight.
Elless is making her Broadway debut in the Stephen Schwartz musical. Her other credits include the national tour of Mamma Mia! and regional productions of Baby, Beauty and the Beast, The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Hamlet.
Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, Godspell currently stars Corbin Bleu as Jesus, Wallace Smith as Judas and co-stars Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, Celisse Henderson, Morgan James, Telly Leung, George Salazar and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.
